About the role
- Conducts engineering event analysis and review the performance of the transmission system, Inverter Based Resources (renewable generation) and Conventional Generation Resources during ERCOT power system events.
- Communicates and coordinates with Generation Resources and Transmission owner/operators to obtain, analyze and review Phasor Measurement Unit and Digital Fault Recorder data.
- Contributes to ad hoc operational data analysis requests, stakeholder group reporting, and internal and external presentations.
Responsibilities
- Provides electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system.
- Participates with other ERCOT departments to select and implement system changes as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible experience as a power system engineer or similar type role within the electric utility industry.
- Familiarity with the electric utility industry
Nice to have
- PE Professional Engineer (Preferred)
- Familiarity with the ERCOT system
- Experience with power flow software
- Experience with SCADA, PMU, or DFR data
- Experience working with large data sets
- Experience querying databases
- Experience with using SQL
- Experience coding

Compensation
- $109,000 - $150,000
Visa & Work Authorization
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
