About the role

  • The position is responsible for assisting senior litigation counsel with the management of cases and disputes, primarily in the negligence, employment, and bankruptcy areas.
  • The position will focus primarily on domestic matters, with opportunities to work on non-US matters.
  • The position reports to the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage discovery in assigned cases
  • Lead internal investigations of negligence and employment matters
  • Manage case budgets and outside counsels' compliance with NCR's Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines

Nice to have

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • At least 3 years' experience in a law firm litigation group, including ideally a working understanding of US bankruptcy law
  • Knowledge of privilege issues relevant to in-house practice
  • Excellent legal judgment and ability to work independently
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Superior legal and business writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery protocols and litigation technology
