About the role
- Backend Software Developer (Greenwich, CT) (Hybrid: Remote work permitted 2 days/week) (multiple positions).
- Hybrid: Remote work permitted 2 days/week.
- Must work from Greenwich, CT office 3 days/week.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain critical backend services for international brokerage firm's interest, margin, sales tax, and net revenue systems.
- Develop java applications that process large datasets from various systems to execute complex calculations and generate comprehensive financial reporting.
- Design efficient data models and optimize complex queries in Oracle database for Interest and Tax systems.
- Implement RESTful APIs and JBoss services that support real-time inquiries for interest-related data.
- Develop automation workflows using Python and shell scripts for system monitoring, API integration, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to implement business requirements into scalable backend services.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions and technical design sessions.
- 4 years of professional experience developing large-scale systems with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and JDBC.
Requirements
- Requires - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, or related field and Four (4) years of experience as a Software Developer or related position developing with Java.
- 4 years of experience working with Oracle Database, including PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and data modelling using large-scale datasets.
- 3 years of experience with RESTful web services; JMS and ActiveMQ; and version control system Git.
- 3 years of experience with Python for automation, data processing, API integration, and system administration tasks.
- 3 years of experience developing applications for financial services platforms that process margin and securities lending transactions and data.
