About the role
- The Director, Technical Accounting will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization's technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and internal policies.
- This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment, preferably within consulting, professional services, or staffing.
Responsibilities
- Manage audits and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
- Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with evolving standards and business needs
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions including revenue recognition, lease accounting and fixed asset accounting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A) to assess accounting implications of business initiatives.
- Private Equity Reporting & Support
- Partner with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders on financial reporting and performance metrics
- Support board reporting, lender compliance, and covenant reporting
- Own the quality and integrity of supporting schedules and workpapers, ensuring they are accurate, well‑controlled, and presented at a level suitable for external audit and executive review.
- Build and scale accounting processes to support cleanup of end-to-end accounting treatment from rapid growth and global expansion
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required)
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles and international leadership experience
- Experience with global consolidations and multi-entity environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate complex accounting matters to non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in consulting, staffing, or professional services industries highly desirable
- Strong technical experience including revenue recognition, intercompany and corresponding eliminations, stock compensation/equity, transfer pricing,
- Proven ability to manage audits and interact with external stakeholders

Nice to have
- Experience in a private equity-backed company strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (IFRS experience a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, preferred) and Blackline
- Strong reporting capabilities on a reported and proforma basis (experience with Workday Adaptive a plus)
Compensation
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS which would include preparation of Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows and Stockholders Equity
- $165,000 - $180,000 USD
