About the role
- Assists instructors in the shop, on an as-needed, when-available basis.
- Supervises student workers assigned to her/his area.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and tools for Automotive Service Department.
- Maintain purchase & repair orders in computerized ledgers; maintain department records.
- Update and maintain service literature and information delivery systems.
- Maintain and enforce environmental policies that relate to the automotive facilities and oversee the storage and disposal of laboratory generated "special waste".
- Participate and support department and college goals and objectives.
- Technical Office Support Staff Council (TOSSC)-AFT Local 604
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience as an automotive technician or a related field.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, specialized automotive service equipment and current office equipment.
- Considerable judgment, initiative, and independent action in establishing or adapting work procedures to new situations are required.
- Work requires knowledge of the policies and procedures within the Department and College Systems.
- Complete required documents for parts and service operations.

- Standard Automotive Technology equipment.
- Duties are performed indoors in the usual Automotive Technology environment and/or outdoor environment.
