About the role

  • The Director of Financial Accountability to oversee the financial management and compliance functions within the NOLA Public Schools' portfolio.
  • The Director will play a critical role in ensuring transparency, integrity, and efficiency in financial operations, while also using the Charter School Accountability Framework to ensure accurate reporting from authorized schools in Orleans Parish.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of quarterly and annual budgets from authorized schools, working closely with schools, district leadership, and other stakeholders to align budget priorities with strategic objectives;

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director of Finance in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and organizational goals;

Requirements

  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks using data and trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other financial analysis tools

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • CPA certification preferred.

Compensation
