About the role
- The Director of Financial Accountability to oversee the financial management and compliance functions within the NOLA Public Schools' portfolio.
- The Director will play a critical role in ensuring transparency, integrity, and efficiency in financial operations, while also using the Charter School Accountability Framework to ensure accurate reporting from authorized schools in Orleans Parish.
- Oversee the preparation and management of quarterly and annual budgets from authorized schools, working closely with schools, district leadership, and other stakeholders to align budget priorities with strategic objectives;
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Director of Finance in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and organizational goals;
Requirements
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks using data and trends.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other financial analysis tools
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- CPA certification preferred.

Compensation

Benefits

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, preferably within the education sector or nonprofit organizations.
