About the role
- We are searching for a Senior Law Clerk to join our Legal team and work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional in-house department or law firm and gain broader exposure, ownership, and work-life balance, while working on complex files and meaningful initiatives.
- Work closely with the Corporate Secretary and the Board of Directors on managing all aspects of the Board governance, Board meeting management and administration;
Responsibilities
- Manage corporate and regulatory filings, both Provincial and Federal
- Support on corporate and legal matters as needed, including minute books, legal notices and responding to regulatory inquiries
- Proficient in SharePoint document management, Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in an in-house legal department or a combination of a law firm and in-house legal department;
- Experience working in banking and financial institutions or other similarly regulated industries;
- Extremely well-organized, with the ability to work under pressure, and handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to work on confidential and/or sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion;
