About the role
- As a Life Skills Coach, you will provide more than just care.
- You'll be a mentor, friend, and advocate, making a lasting difference in the lives of people with IDD.
- Interactions should be free of judgement and the personal agenda of the coach.
Responsibilities
- Foster deep connections by offering a safe space where support, understanding and growth can make a true difference in their lives.
- Build strong relationships and provide participants with opportunities to consider all options available to them when making life choices.
- Build trust and rapport with your participants to understand their unique needs and challenges.
- Develop personalized, short-term goals that align with each participant's abilities and aspirations.

- Support mobility and transfers
- Support evacuations and safety procedures
- Maintain CPR certification and be able to perform CPR on the ground
Requirements
- the employee must be employed for three months and be at least 21 years of age.
- Requirements of 401(k) enrollment; the employee must be employed for three months and be at least 21 years of age.
Nice to have
- Part-time hours - 20-28 hrs./wk. plus opportunities to pick up "subbing" hours
- Hours will be scheduled between Monday - Saturday, between 8:00-6:00 p.m.
Skills
- Monitor and record improvements and milestones achieved by participants and refine your approach as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
- No more than two Type B traffic violations within the last three (3) years and zero Type A violations within the last three (3) years
- Previous experience or a strong desire to work with an at-risk population
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working computer for record-keeping and documentation
Compensation
- $20k-$28k
