About the role
- The Manufacturing Specialist intern will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Process Optimization & Documentation: Assist in documenting current production and quality workflows, including inventory management and cycle counts.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain process documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Production and Quality Support:
- Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes by ensuring documentation aligns with production requirements.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist in developing a system for real-time inventory tracking.
- Work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to identify process gaps.
- Provide support in supplier quality management activities, such as supplier audits or compliance documentation.
Requirements
- This role provides hands-on experience in inventory management, quality assurance, and manufacturing process development, contributing to the overall improvement of production workflows.
Nice to have
- Shadow production and quality personnel to understand manufacturing constraints and how changes impact efficiency.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, process documentation, and quality standards.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not required).
