About the role

  • The Manufacturing Specialist intern will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Process Optimization & Documentation: Assist in documenting current production and quality workflows, including inventory management and cycle counts.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain process documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Production and Quality Support:
  • Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes by ensuring documentation aligns with production requirements.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist in developing a system for real-time inventory tracking.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to identify process gaps.
  • Provide support in supplier quality management activities, such as supplier audits or compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • This role provides hands-on experience in inventory management, quality assurance, and manufacturing process development, contributing to the overall improvement of production workflows.

Nice to have

  • Shadow production and quality personnel to understand manufacturing constraints and how changes impact efficiency.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, process documentation, and quality standards.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not required).
