About the role

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts for our software products.
  • This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, ensuring product reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and execute automated and manual test scripts to meet quality goals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of software defects and track resolutions.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist colleagues in achieving optimal results.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by management within the scope of expertise.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of software development principles and various software types.
  • Proficiency in formal programming languages, primarily Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of automated processing technologies and QA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation standards and best practices.
  • Minimum 6+ years of professional software testing experience.
  • Extensive experience with QA tools, including defect-tracking systems.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid understanding of client-server architecture.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
  • Requirements & Professional Experience
  • Prior programming experience is highly desirable.

  • Additional QA certifications or training preferred.

Compensation

  • For Chicago, IL Only the salary range for this position is USD$140,000.00 - USD$195,000.00.
  • BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
