About the role
- The Domain Owner for Core Banking is the senior product leader responsible for the strategic direction, squad output, and commercial outcomes of the Core Banking domain at Nymbus.
- This is not a traditional product management role.
- You operate with four capabilities simultaneously: strategic product leadership, people leadership of Builders, domain subject matter expertise, and AI-first execution.
Responsibilities
- Owns and executes on the product roadmap for the Core Banking domain
- Drive commercial outcomes - your domain's reliability and capability directly impacts every client relationship
- Hire, develop, and performance-manage all Builders in the Core Banking domain
- Build a team culture of precision, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Design and reason about account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, and posting models including memo posting, hard posting, reversals, and adjustments
- You are building a modern, AI-enabled, multi-tenant core that community financial institutions can trust with every dollar their customers deposit, borrow, and move.
Requirements
- Active, hands-on experience with AI-assisted product design and development workflows
- Comfort operating in a spec-first, AI-native development methodology
- Core Banking Expertise (Required)
- 8+ years in product, engineering, or technical leadership roles in core banking or financial services infrastructure
- Deep hands-on experience with core banking platforms - you have built, operated, or led teams building core systems (deposits, lending, or both)
- Experience with loan servicing systems - lifecycle management, payment application, accrual, and exception handling
- Experience with multi-tenant core banking platforms serving multiple financial institutions
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting core operations (Reg D, Reg CC, Reg DD, Reg Z, TILA, RESPA, BSA/AML)
- Demonstrated use of AI tools for specification, iteration, and problem-solving
- Willingness to model AI-first practices for the entire domain
- Understanding that AI-first does not mean lower precision - core banking demands both speed and correctness
- Expert-level understanding of ledger structures, posting models, and double-entry accounting as implemented in bank systems
- Understanding of batch processing, settlement, and end-of-day reconciliation at operational depth
- Experience navigating the tradeoffs between configurability, correctness, and performance in core systems
- Experience managing and developing product builders, engineers, or technical product managers
Compensation
- $165,000 - $180,000 Annual Salary
