About the role

  • It offers a full spectrum of water, waste, and energy management services, including water and wastewater treatment, commercial and hazardous waste collection and disposal, energy consulting and resource recovery.
  • Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.
  • Position Purpose: Corporate Counsel will represent and provide legal advice to the Company's Municipal Water Contract Operations business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate agreements, contracts and other legal documents to protect the company's rights and interests.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new legislation and amendments.
  • Support the Company's goal of helping municipal clients address their environmental and sustainability challenges.

Requirements

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as a proven ability to negotiate and draft documentation for sophisticated commercial transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with colleagues at all levels of the organization by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and personal style.
  • Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

Nice to have

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in legal practice.
  • Prior experience as in-house counsel preferred, but not required.

Skills

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.
  • State bar member in good standing.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Compensation

  • $150000 to $170000 Per Year.
