About the role
- The coordinator will help connect youth and families to appropriate resources, support engagement in services, and oversee childcare activities for children while parents or guardians participate in SUD-related services.
- The primary responsibility of the Supportive Services Coordinator is to educate the community on youth-related Substance Use Disorder (SUD) risks, provide support to families impacted by youth SUD, conduct outreach through community events and other engagement opportunities, and provide childcare oversight through the BRIDGE Program within the SUD department.
Responsibilities
- Support children's emotional and social development by encouraging positive self-concepts, healthy interactions with others, and age-appropriate activities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including BRIDGE program tracking and outcome reporting requirements, as well as childcare records such as daily observations, activities, meals served, and medications administered.
- Maintain a clean and safe childcare environment by sanitizing toys, equipment, and activity areas, and assist with food preparation, serving meals or refreshments, and reinforcing healthy habits related to eating, resting, and toileting routines.
- Actively identify opportunities to support and educate individuals and families regarding SUD risks among minors and youth.
- Provide guidance, support, and care coordination services to families identified as high risk for SUD-related concerns.
- Assist families with referrals and support for Medi-Cal enrollment services.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance is required
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be enrolled into a Child Development Classes (8 Units min.), OR have proof of completion from a Child Development Program
- Must have reliable transportation as this position requires you to travel.
- The coordinator will also maintain required documentation, support program tracking and reporting efforts, and assist with coordination of services to promote continued engagement and access to supportive resources.
- Ensure all documentation, logs, and required reports are completed accurately and timely for Quality Assurance (QA), the SUD Director, county reporting, and BRIDGE program requirements.
- Ensure patient/client charts meet county and state compliance requirements, including documenting all services provided within required timelines.
- Assist with collecting and providing data for monthly reporting to the Program Director and support client engagement in required program services.
Nice to have
- Minimum 1-year experience in the drug & alcohol field with youth preferred.
- Must have active Registered Substance Abuse/Addiction Counselor, a plus
- Experience working with Drug Medi-Cal clients (Adult and Youth) a plus.
- Understanding of Drug Medi-Cal requirements/process a plus.
