About the role
- The Work Care LPN responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patient assessment and triage, excellent communication and customer service skills, educating and answering patient questions during visit and at discharge.
- The Work Care LPN rooms patients, takes vital signs, collects specimens and reports patient concerns or pertinent observations to provider.
- The Work Care LPN is responsible for coordination of tests and services, assisting providers with procedures, and accurate documentation of all patient related activities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team encompassing strategies to achieve expected outcomes.
- Delivers professional nursing care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring illustrated by creating caring relationships, taking time to have uninterrupted moments with patients and displaying unconditional acceptance and respect.
- Promotes a mutually respectful environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and supports the effectiveness of professional relationships and integrates ethics in all aspects of practice.
- Mentors nurses new to their role for the purpose of ensuring successful enculturation, orientation, competence, and emotional support. Supports students to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Requirements
- Required for All Jobs
- Responsible for understanding and showing respect for patients' rights including confidentiality of patient information. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. (Required proficiency)
Skills
- Demonstrates consistent use of Standard Precautions and proper body mechanics and follows OSHA guidelines (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act and follows the statutes and regulations therein. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates excellent understanding and use of the EMR (Required proficiency)
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
- Basic Life Support
- BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
Compensation
- Abide by Stormont Vail's Remote Worker Policy and will review and acknowledge the Remote Work Agreement annually.
