About the role
- Our Auto Auctions, some up to 200 acres, provide a wide array of vehicle services including repair & reconditioning, auction remarketing, and many of our sites serve as market hub distribution centers.
- Our inventory comprises hundreds of thousands of vehicles across North America from retail to commercial, OEM & more.
- This position reports to the Mechanic Shop or designated manager.
Responsibilities
- A/C & Heater - Operate the system and recognize if the system is cooling or not, perform basic system checks such as power to compressor, visually inspect condenser, belt tension, etc., Identify Freon and oil leaks.
- Brakes - Identify components of brake system, visually inspect brakes, identify irregular noises and leaks, perform simple system tests, Measure lining, drums, rotors, cams.
- Road test for proper operation, Check fluid level, adjust service and park brakes and perform repair.
- Electrical Charging Systems - Visually inspect batteries, clean connections, Check condition of belts, Test batteries, Check alternator mounting and pulley, Replace and adjust belts, Perform basic charging system check.
- Drive Axles - Inspect housings for leaks, change oil and filter and clean breathers.
- Driveline - Lubricate drive line, Inspect components for wear or damage.
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance - Perform air pressure checks, Check tread depth, identify tires that need to be changed or repaired, perform tire Checks, replace tire and wheel assemblies, Mount/dismount and rotate tires.

Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in automotive repair field
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license that meets the requirements

- Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.
Nice to have
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- 2 ASE Certifications preferred

Compensation
- $20-$25 hourly
