About the role

  • Escalate issues whenever there are risks to proper service.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and hours of service violations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to support efficient logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE.

Nice to have

  • Prior dispatcher experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations and driver logs.
  • Knowledge of our geographic delivery area.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of time:
  • OCCASIONALLY: 1% - 33 / FREQUENTLY: 34% - 66% / CONTINUOUSLY: 67% - 100% or NEVER
  • 1-10 lbs (Sedentary) OCCASIONALLY
  • 11-20 lbs (Light) OCCASIONALLY
  • 21-50 lbs (Medium) OCCASIONALLY

Skills

  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service ability.
  • Math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope.
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.

Compensation

  • depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).
