About the role

  • This full-time position must commute within a two-hour radius of Melville, New York for a hybrid schedule (2 days or more at designated office location and remainder work-from-home).

Responsibilities

  • The intent of this role is to secure an experienced project cost controller who can provide detailed, project-level financial support rather than a general accountant.
  • Project finance support concentrates on tracking costs, revenues, and budgets for individual projects from start to finish in a federal setting involving federal grants.
  • Efficiently provide consultative technical/analytical and functional support to the team and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management Software).

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with MS Office, including Intermediate Excel- Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Formulas, etc., and a working knowledge of project accounting systems and document management software tools.
  • Preferred Skills: (These may set candidates apart)
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).

Compensation

  • While the range below is broader for career growth, this position will offer a base salary of $100K to $110K.
