About the role
- The Retail & Specialty Pharmacy Director provides strategic leadership for Riverside's retail and specialty pharmacy services division, ensuring exceptional financial, operational, and clinical performance.
- This leader strengthens payer and manufacturer relationships and enhances system value through improved access, outcomes, and efficiency.
- The position is fully accountable for operational execution, performance management, business results, and advancement of Riverside's strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Service Line Growth: Develop, lead, and execute the system's strategic plan for retail and specialty pharmacy including growth initiatives, new business lines, payer and manufacturer partnerships, digital engagement strategies, and clinical program expansion to improve patient access, outcomes, and enterprise value
- Talent Management & Leadership Development: Lead high-performing leaders & team through effective talent management, hiring, workforce planning, optimal staffing ratios, coaching, performance evaluation, accountability to goals, leadership development, and succession planning across all areas of responsibility
- This role leads the development and execution of strategic priorities, drives growth and innovation, and ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance.
- Knowledge of workflow design, technology platforms, automation, analytics, and digital engagement tools.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree, or higher in Pharmacy (Required)
- 340B University OnDemand - Apexus within 180 Days(Required)
- Comprehensive knowledge of retail and specialty pharmacy operations, accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC), payer/manufacturer requirements, and medication-use processes
Skills
- Understanding of performance improvement, quality management, and high-reliability operations
- Strong executive leadership presence with ability to motivate, coach, and retain high-performing teams
- Skilled in strategic planning, business development, and leading change or technology initiatives
- Licensed Pharmacist
- Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 90 Days(Required)
- 340B University OnDemand
- Apexus within 180 Days(Required)
Compensation
- Financial Stewardship & Revenue Optimization: Drive financial performance by developing annual budgets, monitoring revenue and margin metrics, optimizing drug procurement and inventory management, strengthening reimbursement performance, reducing avoidable costs, and leading monthly operational and financial review processes
Benefits
- $168,300.00 - $244,050.00/AnnualActual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
- 3 years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience within a health system (Required)
- 2 years of retail & specialty experience within a health system (Required)
