About the role

  • As the team's AI investments open up later this year, you'll shape those too.
  • Please note, we are looking for someone who will be able to come into our San Francisco office on a hybrid basis (3 days / week).

Responsibilities

  • The team is building Zip's next generation of payment rails, from direct bank integrations to new provider partnerships, and you'll own the product experience on top of them: how enterprises schedule, track, and trust payments at global scale.
  • Partner closely with engineers, and with PM and go-to-market stakeholders across P2P, to brainstorm, define, and implement new features and offerings.
  • Participate in regular design reviews with the broader design team.
  • Own the end-to-end payments experience: scheduling, tracking, and the failure and retry states where trust in money movement is won or lost.
  • Shape product direction: frame the problem, write the brief when there isn't one, and drive decisions with evidence alongside engineering.
  • 🚠 Team building events & happy hours
  • We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workspace where everyone (regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and more) feels like they belong.

Requirements

  • Experience designing for operations-heavy users: AP, treasury, or finance teams who live in these tools eight hours a day.
  • Experience shipping at least one full product or significant feature end to end as the lead designer.
  • Experience driving product decisions in ambiguous territory: you can frame a problem, align partners, and move without waiting for a spec.
  • Experience running your own research: finding the right customers, asking the right questions, and turning what you hear into design decisions.
  • Experience iterating closely with engineers on both UX and visual design to get the details just right.
  • A point of view: you can defend design decisions with PMs and engineers, and change your mind when the evidence says you should.
  • Understanding of the technical constraints of building web applications.
  • You build with AI tools in your own workflow, prototyping with Claude, Figma Make, Cursor, or whatever gets your ideas into something clickable fastest.
  • The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
