About the role

  • This position reports to the Gulf Manager.
  • The Field Technician will be responsible for assigned aspects of the maintenance and operation of utility scale PV power plant.
  • Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of contractors to ensure safe, high quality and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Always maintain integrity and follow Arevon safety policies and procedures
  • Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems.
  • Ability to create and follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters to name a few.
  • Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
  • Perform testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment, as needed
  • Maintain work area and site housecleaning to company standards

Requirements

  • 3 years of direct experience as a PV solar technician or 2-5 years' experience in a non-solar electrical maintenance role.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers and vendors.

  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

Nice to have

  • CEC license or technical degree preferred.
  • Electrical certifications, state, journeyman, etc. a plus.
  • Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking
  • Strong Understanding of renewable energy technology
