About the role

  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) contributes to quality patient care, and improvements in organization and system outcomes.
  • Identifies and orders diagnostics tests/procedures in accordance with the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, approved medical directives, and the Public Hospital Act
  • Initiates individual, family and group promotion of health/wellness

Responsibilities

  • Maintain eligibility to be cross appointed to an academic institution and belonging to the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario and other relevant organizations
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, ACLS an asset
  • Utilizes and demonstrates advanced knowledge and decision making skills to complete comprehensive assessment, diagnose and manage the care of patients

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Masters degree program in Nursing

Nice to have

  • Three (3) years of Nursing experience in the extended class preferred

Compensation

  • $65.09 - $76.14 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
