About the role
- Whisper Aero is seeking a Project Engineer who will work with cross-functional engineering teams within Whisper to coordinate timing and execution of projects onsite in Crossville or Nashville, Tennessee.
- The successful candidate will be someone with a strong background in executing multi-system aerospace projects and thrives in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.
- They will have a passion for excellence and be able to clearly communicate with stakeholders, including engineers and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Build project schedules, highlight critical paths, and foresee future blockers utilizing engineering experience and systems thinking
- Lead standups for testing teams
- Build out requirements, milestones, and risk management strategies
- Use agile management tools to plan sprints, track progress, and maintain documentation across teams
Requirements
- US Citizenship status is required, as this position may access export-controlled data
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, or a related field
- Requires a minimum of 3years of professional engineering experience in a test related role within the aerospace or defense industry
- Proven hands-on background with hardware development
- Proven track record defining, organizing, and tracking multi-system aerospace projects
- Proven systems level thinking across aerospace technical disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse technical teams
- Proficiency with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent for planning, tracking, and communication
- Familiarity with AI tools (not just ChatGPT, Claude, or an AI notetaker).
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to aircraft, engines, electric machines, and electronics
- Experience with aircraft engines or electric drivetrains
- Experience with modern requirements management software
- FAA pilot certification
