About the role
- The Foreman ensures compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and project timelines while minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing plant reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical work on capital projects, including reading schematics, reviewing plans, and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and other trades.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgear, and instrumentation.
- Maintain and update electrical documentation, including wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and asset records.
- Support commissioning and startup activities for new or modified equipment.
- The Commercial Electrician Foreman will lead a team of electricians and contractors to safely and efficiently maintain, troubleshoot, and install electrical systems in a commercial environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial electrical experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V (or higher as required).
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work orders and asset tracking.
- Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects and coordinating contractors.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed to support production or project deadlines.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Working Conditions:
- New construction and remodel sites with exposure to noise, heat, heights, and confined spaces.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working at heights.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or GED required
- technical school diploma or associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
