About the role
- Help uphold a safe, orderly, and supportive residential atmosphere consistent with program guidelines and house expectations.
- Act as the primary on-site staff contact for resident questions, concerns, urgent issues, and unexpected situations during scheduled hours.
- Apply trauma-informed de-escalation techniques when addressing conflict, emotional distress, behavioral concerns, or crisis situations.
Responsibilities
- Take appropriate action in emergencies, including notifying leadership, contacting emergency responders, or reaching out to other designated supports as needed.
- Promote resident involvement in meaningful evening and weekend engagement opportunities that support growth and connection.
- Maintain professionalism, sound judgment, appropriate boundaries, and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Partner with other program staff to communicate trends, concerns, and after-hours developments that may affect resident care.
- Resident Care Specialist provides consistent, in-person support within Genesis Home to help foster a secure, calm, and caring residential setting for women participating in services.
Requirements
- Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff, and volunteers.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergencies.
- Ability to organize, self-direct, and facilitate group activities.
- Ability to empathize and practice trauma-informed care with those who have experienced various levels of trauma.
- Evidence of deep alignment with Created Women Inc. mission and values.
- Complies with all applicable training requirements.
- Complies with all company safety, personnel, and operational policies and procedures.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to set appropriate limits, use sound judgment, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Possess strong work ethics.
- Successfully pass a FDLE Level II background screening.
Nice to have
- High School diploma GED required.
- Previous experience in an anti-trafficking related field preferred
- Have a valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance.
