Responsibilities
- Software Design & Development
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions using modern development practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Own the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Help to drive adoption of modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps).
- Lead initiatives to strengthen automated testing, including unit, integration, and UI testing frameworks.
- Conduct design reviews and code reviews to ensure technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Promote documentation standards and maintain technical knowledge repositories.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience (or equivalent expertise).
- Expertise in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with databases, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and microservices architecture.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle ambiguity.
- Experience leading or mentoring development teams
- LGC PT also offers an ISO / IEC 17043 accredited proficiency testing program for clinical laboratories outside of the United States who prefer a different schedule and sample format than U.S. laboratories.
- Together, API and LGC PT support the American Proficiency Institute proficiency testing program, which is known for its innovation and exceptional service.
- Lead the design, development, modernization, and maintenance of enterprise software applications supporting API and LGC Proficiency Testing operations.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Expertise in cloud-native development and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling.
