About the role

  • Position Title: Adult Fluoroscopy Tech - Dedicated Surgery (Days, 4x10hr shifts) Department: Adult Diagnostic X-Ray Job Description: New to OU Health?
  • This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Fluoroscopy or are experienced imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in Fluoroscopy.
  • Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a variety of highly specialized radiologic and/or fluoroscopic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or invasive procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
  • Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols.
  • Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
  • ARRT(RT) Certification required within 12 months of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) and ARRT(RT) Certification required at hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.

Skills

  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge of fluoroscopy equipment operation, image optimization, and dose reduction strategies.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of sterile fields consistently ensuring a safe environment for the patient
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations
  • Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.
  • Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.

  • Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.
  • May provide on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
