Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine blood drawing procedures, using standard equipment such as vaccutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes, and butterfly needles.
- Maintains inventory of supplies
- Performs quality control procedures to maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintains inventory of supplies; stocks supplies on carts and hand trays.

Nice to have
- Phlebotomist Certification from a Nationally Recognized Board/Agency: ASCP
- or CVAS-Certified Venous Access Specialist
- or ASPT-American Society Phlebotomist Technician
- or NHA-National Healthcareer Association
- or NCCT-Phlebotomy National Center for Competency Testing
- or NPA-National Phlebotomy Association
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skills
- Knowledge of blood processing and handling procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant clinical and patient care regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Knowledge of infection control and sterile procedures.
- Interpersonal skills to allay pay patient fears and interact with staff.
- Ability to perform standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques.
- Ability to comply with clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures.
- Ability to complete and maintain documents and records.
