About the role

  • Balance classroom instruction with hands-on lab time (targeting 60% lab hours per week) to reinforce theoretical concepts through applied practice.
  • Safety Leadership Model and enforce jobsite safety culture at all times, including daily stretch & flex, pre-task briefs, hazard walks, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure proper PPE use and safe tool/equipment handling throughout all lab sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery & Instruction Deliver structured daily lesson plans across a 3-week, 150-hour curriculum covering construction and electrical safety, trade math, blueprint reading, conduit bending/installation, wiring, electrical theory, troubleshooting, and capstone project work.
  • Guide students through a hands-on capstone build, including project documentation, upload/submission, and final presentation.
  • Track and document student progress, skill verification/sign-offs, attendance, and completion records.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certification documentation, and student performance evaluations.
  • Maintain lab equipment, tools, and materials in safe, working order; manage classroom/lab inventory.
  • The instructor will deliver a blended curriculum combining classroom instruction (~40% of hours) with intensive lab-based, skills-driven practice (~60% of hours), covering everything from foundational safety and trade math through conduit installation, device wiring, electrical theory, troubleshooting, and final evaluations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a licensed/certified electrician with critical facility construction experience Valid Journeyman Electrician license Current OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
  • must be qualified to deliver or coordinate OSHA 10 instruction to students.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and current code cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience with conduit bending (EMT/rigid), wire pulling, device wiring, continuity/meter testing, and LOTO procedures.
  • Strong understanding of basic DC electrical theory (Ohm's Law, series/parallel/mixed circuits).
  • ability to explain technical concepts clearly to entry-level learners.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in lab/field environments for extended periods.
  • This role requires an individual who can balance technical trade expertise with strong classroom facilitation skills, mentor early-career learners, and instill the safety culture, work ethic, and technical competencies required for success in commercial and data center construction environments.
  • Facilitate OSHA 10 certification training and ensure all students complete required certification requirements.

Nice to have

  • Valid Master Electrician license Experience working in data center construction environments.
  • Experience with blueprint reading instruction, trade math instruction, or apprenticeship curriculum delivery.
  • Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in lab/field environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to [35-50] lbs and safely handle tools, conduit, and training equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate ladders, hand tools, and power tools while demonstrating techniques to students.
  • Comfortable working in a shop/lab environment with variable noise, dust, and physical activity levels
  • Journeyman (Required) or Master Electrician (Preferred)
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office required).
