About the role
- Union College invites applications for the position of one year Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology, beginning September 1, 2026.

- The Department prides itself on strong teaching and on building relationships with students.
- Department members are all active scholars who support each other's scholarship and who value the integration of research and teaching.
- The successful hire can develop courses in their area of expertise that may contribute to the college's interdisciplinary programs.
Nice to have
- Candidates with Ph.D. in anthropology in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but ABD candidates, as well as candidates in closely related fields are welcome to apply.
- The successful candidate will teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $68,500-$70,500.
- Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
- The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
