About the role

Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network.
In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week.
These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

Perform functions including, but not limited to, technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director.
Collaborate with accomplished journalists and media professionals.

Studio Technician / Technical Director (Per Diem Part-Time)

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a leading and valued newsroom dedicated to delivering high-quality news across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
If you have experience with floor directing, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations this may be the perfect job for you.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalism, focuses on delivering high quality newscasts to local viewers, and is a leader in the news production environment.
HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
Vocational/technical school, associate degree, or bachelor's degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a broadcast technician, master control technician, technical director, or similar role in a news environment.

Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment.
Excellent communication skills and news judgment.
Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required.
Experience with automated control room environments.
Must be able to sit and stand for an extended period.
Additional Details
FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation.
Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news.
This position will be for no less than two weeks, with no end date determined at this time.

Education & Experience: HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $31.55-52.63 per hour.
