About the role

  • Access Now defends and extends the digital rights of people and communities at risk. As a grassroots-to-global organization, we partner with local actors to bring a human rights agenda to the use, development, and governance of digital technologies, and to intervene where technologies adversely impact our human rights. By combining direct technical support,
  • strategic advocacy, grassroots grantmaking, and convenings such as RightsCon, we fight for human rights in the digital age.

Responsibilities

  • As Assistant Controller you will drive and support activities that span our global finance functions, with varying duties specific to the financial operations of our Costa Rica, Europe, and/or US finance centers. Duties will include, and not be limited to:
  • Prepare audit schedules and provide support for audit activities
  • Partner with regional accountants across global regions to review local financial statements
  • Prepare and produce budget documents, and actual-to-budget analyses for division directors
  • Support preparation of financial statements and analysis for board meetings
  • Lead in research of financial strategies, and implementation of systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google Apps, Microsoft Office and SAP, Oracle, or related financial systems, with advanced Excel (Pivot, Sumifs and Vlookup function) and Google Sheets expertise
  • Fluency in English required
