Responsibilities

  • Use professional judgment to deliver imaging services, applying X‑ray technology for patients of all ages.

  • Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment.
  • Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
  • Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers.

Requirements

  • Maintaining accurate patient records and logging of completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications

Nice to have

  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).
  • Responsible for x-ray services as needed
  • Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.

Skills

  • Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
  • Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.

  • The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients.
  • This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers.
