About the role
- Ensure data integrity and consistency in a distributed software systems environment, addressing issues including replication and fault tolerance.
- Keep abreast of developments and IT industrywide developments including emerging software technologies and industry trends in time-series data storage and processing, and evaluate their potential integration into company's current software systems.
Responsibilities
- Duties: Design, develop/engineer, implement and maintain software computer Information Technology ("IT") systems which underpin the technology foundation of the company.
- Design, develop/engineer and implement scalable time-series software storage solutions that can handle high ingestion rates and large volumes of data.
- Develop/engineer and maintain robust querying software mechanisms specified for time-series datasets, including indexing, caching and data compression techniques.
- Collaborate with other internal actors including data engineers, software system architects and product managers to define and align technical/IT strategies.
- Monitor software system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to ensure high availability and low latency in systems.
- Develop/engineer and enforce software coding standards and design patterns that improve code maintainability, scalability, and overall system reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related IT field.
Skills
- Must also pass company's required skills assessment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software engineering issues, both in software development and production environments.
Compensation
- The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000 per year.
- This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions.
- Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation.
- Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience. #LI-DNI
