About the role

  • S/he/they executes the strategy and management of an assigned portfolio with the responsibility of maximizing unrestricted and restricted major gift funds raised annually and for longer-term efforts, such as capital, special gifts and endowment campaigns.
  • S/he/they is an articulate spokesperson for PPCCC and its programs and priorities in the philanthropic community.
  • The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Philanthropy.

Responsibilities

  • The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for inspiring, broadening and deepening the support of individual donors to Planned Parenthood California Central Cost.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area.
  • implement plan as required in designated region. -Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy.
  • Strong organizational skills -Strong verbal, written and presentation skills -Strong PC skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Raiser's Edge experiences is a plus. -Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, and the general public in a positive manner. -Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional ethics, including the ability to create personal relationships and communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of stakeholders. -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: -BA or AA plus equivalent experience. -Minimum of 4 years fundraising experience
  • including some major donor cultivation and solicitation. -Ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure without compromising accuracy, attention to detail and courtesy to volunteers, donors and staff. -Ability to provide feedback to staff in a constructive manner resulting in motivation for change. -Ability to research and gather information. -Ability to organize large amounts of data/information into reports/presentations that all levels of staff can understand. -Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and evenings when necessary.

Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization's pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $ 45.70/hour with the opportunity for advancement. As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries. Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
