About the role
- The purpose of the Material Planner II is to analyze customer forecasts and place purchase orders to ensure that manufacturing has the right parts, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity to complete each day's schedule.
- This includes managing component inventory levels and arranging expedites in response to customer demand changes or delivery issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of suppliers, their processes, supply chain & the logistics of how material ships.
- Escalate, manage, and avoid potential disruptions to manufacturing. If a part shortage does occur within production, respond in a timely manner providing an update with the resolution plan and timeline.
- Release purchase orders at lead time, reschedule due dates of purchase orders as customer demand fluctuates in an effort to meet the desired inventory target.
- Build and maintain relationships with our supply base consistent with that of the commodity team.
- Utilize planning tools and ERP system to successfully manage inventory.
- Communicates Effectively - Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, taking into account the unique needs of different audiences (internally and externally).
- Manages Complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Maintain high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Ability to support occasional activities outside of normal business hours.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
