About the role

  • Job Description Summary The coder/abstracter is responsible for accurate code assignment of all inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses, procedures and conditions as indicated in the patient medical record.
  • All work is carried out in accordance with the Health Information Management Department and MUSC approved policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) required.
  • With Associate's degree, minimum of 2-3 years of experience in coding and familiarity with coding software.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve coding issues.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CPC-A, or other coding credential required If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
