About the role

  • DESCRIPTION: Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Scientist I, Formulation, where you'll make meaningful contributions to products that help make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
  • Participate in the maintenance of manufacturing and laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in inter departmental co-ordination for documentation and equipment related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing activities including set-up, run and cleaning of equipment and rooms Perform formulation, scale up and other manufacturing (Developmental & Good Manufacturing Practices) related assignments and documents them appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and reports potential hazards.

  • Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.).

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmaceutics, Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following:
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time
  • ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
  • Use of Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.
  • Provide support to the team as required within the scope of their function.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of equipment, formulations and processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency with the English Language.

Compensation

  • The estimated annualized pay range for this position in Ontario is $46,600.00-$69,850.00.
