About the role

  • Like to ship meaningful products and generally get things done?
  • As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on CrowdStrike's TechOps CICD team, you will be a key contributor to a team of engineers responsible for keeping our software factory running at scale.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, maintenance, and resilience of critical R&D environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and operation of on-premises virtualization environments, with a focus on QEMU/KVM and OpenNebula
  • Drive the team's migration from VMware toward a KVM-based IaC private cloud model
  • Contribute to the TrueNAS to PowerFlex migration, including storage cluster design and operational handoff
  • Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Packer, and Ansible
  • Operate and optimize distributed storage infrastructure and protocols (NFS, CIFS, block storage)
  • Determine root-cause for incidents, correlate recurring patterns to systemic issues, and drive resolution
  • Employee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities to build connections

Requirements

  • Experience with OpenNebula or similar private cloud platforms
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, and infrastructure scripting
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, Packer, and Ansible
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience operating large-scale distributed storage infrastructure and protocols (NFS, CIFS)
  • Experience with enterprise operating systems (Linux, Windows, MacOS) at scale
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI
  • Experience with git-based source code repositories (Bitbucket, GitLab)
  • Experience with OpenStack or other open-source IaaS platforms
  • Experience with Dell PowerFlex, TrueNAS, or similar storage platforms

Nice to have

  • Expertise with hypervisor platforms - QEMU/KVM strongly preferred for on-premises workloads
  • experience with VMware or Xen also applicable
