You partner closely with Human Resources and business partners to provide day to day counseling, supervise investigations, evaluate legal risks and provide subject matter expertise on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including recruiting and hiring, training, employee management, complex leaves of absences, and HR best practices.
You collaborate with the Human Resources team to generate, update, and implement training on HR and employment law topics.
You manage pre-litigation and litigation disputes related to employment matters, including preparing litigation holds and document gathering.
You partner with cross-functional teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for a global organization.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience.
At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience.
Travel Required:

You have a minimum of 8 years of related employment law experience at top-tier law firm and/or in house (preferred).
You must be comfortable presenting to, counseling, and interacting with Human Resources and business leaders.
You are recognized as an expert in your field within the organization.
You have excellent decision-making skills, practical business judgement, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
You are able to work in person in the San Diego office as required, local within 75 miles is strongly preferred.

Reporting to the Vice President, Employment, Corporate Governance & Privacy, this role will support employment law for our North America region.
