About the role

  • You'll use your clinical nursing experience to provide direct patient care across outpatient primary care and specialty clinics serving Veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with wound care, minor procedures, activities of daily living when needed, emergency response, and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment that supports quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary team members while participating in ongoing professional development and organizational quality and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required
  • must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust Clearance and successfully complete a South Carolina criminal background check.

  • Provide skilled nursing care in primary care and specialty outpatient clinics, with support in acute care medical/surgical and outpatient laboratory areas as needed.
  • Administer oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications in accordance with approved policies, monitor patient responses, and promptly communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Monitor vital signs, document patient histories and clinical observations, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and medications while supporting positive patient experiences through compassionate communication.
