Responsibilities

  • Evaluate design proposals, engineering plans, equipment and specifications for prefabrication opportunities
  • Use your experience to develop estimates as a mechanical contractor for prefabrication scopes of work
  • Provide engineering design assistance on job proposals.
  • Have the ability to take conceptual designs and narratives and develop detailed estimates. Assist the VDC team in developing model content prior to development of construction documents for proof of concept exercises.
  • Verify compliance of all VDC drawings produced for spooling prior to sending them to spooling. Work with the Prefabrication VDC Manager and fabrication facility Superintendent to eliminate waste and drive efficiency.
  • Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations.
  • Have the ability to take conceptual designs and narratives and develop detailed estimates.
  • Assist the VDC team in developing model content prior to development of construction documents for proof of concept exercises. • Interface and work directly with all the different team members involved with the skid/module development, from Facility Owners, Engineering Consultants, General Contractors, Project Managers, VDC Managers, and fabrication foremen.
  • Work with the Prefabrication VDC Manager and fabrication facility Superintendent to eliminate waste and drive efficiency.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical engineering or equivalent degree/experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Verify Pipe, Valve, and Fittings required for each project and standardize material for use by VDC Project Managers
  • What you'll need (minimum qualifications):

Nice to have

  • Experience with Autobid software and Revit
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Lean Manufacturing Proficiency
  • Manufacturing experience
