About the role

- In this role you will report directly to the Quality Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion.
- This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
- In this role, you will establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in a production environment.
- In addition, you will perform reviews and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
- Periodically, you will interface with internal and external customers on quality related concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.
Requirements
- 5+ years' proven experience in a Quality Engineer role in a production environment.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 QM System and/or related quality systems and programs
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- Required for all positions: Blue's Standard Background Check
- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
- Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering/Science
- Ability to support manufacturing schedules (first, second, weekend shift) and extended hours as needed
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
- Desired:
Nice to have
- Experience in Aerospace, spacecraft processing, space launch, military/commercial aviation highly preferred.
- Experience with IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)
- Experience with IPC 620 standard (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
- Experience in GD&T fundamentals
- Experience with quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and corrective action
- Experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem solving approaches
- American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
- Quality Management System audit experience
Compensation
- Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
