About the role
- Axos Bank Target Range: $120,000.00 /Yr. - $145,000.00 /Yr.
- Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
- About This Job This position is on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego CA.
Responsibilities
- Manage Linux/Unix systems (build, patching, performance tuning)
- Support application teams with OS and middleware dependencies
- Drive automation to reduce manual recovery efforts like Bash / Python.
- Develop and maintain Puppet modules/manifests
- Provision and manage Unix/Linux VMs and templates
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and DR (Zerto)
- Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and access control
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance posture
- Support enterprise backup and DR solutions
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Linux Administration
- Strong expertise in Puppet (configuration management)
- Hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS) and storage systems
- Experience with ITSM (incident/change management)

- Ensures high availability, security compliance, and operational stability of mission-critical banking applications.
- You will also act as an L2/L3 System Engineer resource, working across IT Infrastructure teams in a regulated banking environment.

Compensation
- These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.
