About the role
- The Mentor Liaison will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and expansion of the mentor program including recruitment, training, and placement of mentors in all programs; communication with mentors and staff members, documentation of mentor activities; assistance with special projects and events.
Responsibilities
- Maintains communication and coordination with appropriate Youth Villages staff to evaluate volunteer needs and performance
- Communicates with mentors regularly and implements improvements
- Leads orientation and other trainings for new mentors
- Maintains list for youth in need of mentors
- Documents mentor program goals and outcomes
- Develops plan to recruit new mentors for each program
- Creates slide deck presented to civic groups, professional organizations, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline (required)
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy (others subject to review)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule

Nice to have
- Master's degree in a social services discipline (preferred)
- 3 to 6 months of experience recruiting and managing volunteers (strongly preferred)
- Experience with Salesforce (preferred)
Compensation
- 12 paid sick days per year
