About the role

  • Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this role oversees purchase order and invoice processing, banking and treasury functions, and employee expense administration, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate workflows and approval processes for invoices, staff expenses, and credit card reconciliations, including oversight of purchase orders and vendor banking detail changes.
  • Oversee the finance email inbox, ensuring timely responses to payment requests and inquiries from vendors and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Invest Ottawa is seeking a Finance Supervisor to perform a variety of core accounting functions with a focus on accounts payable, treasury, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • You will provide day-to-day supervision and support to two Finance Assistants while coordinating accounts payable workflows, supporting vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with finance procedures and internal controls.

Requirements

  • 10 days per month required in-office at
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, treasury, or finance operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $79,000
  • Reason for Opening: Backfilling a position.
  • Oversee vendor payment processing including EFTs, bill payments, cheque runs, and wire transfers, and monitor accounts payable aging to support timely processing and follow-up.
  • Coordinate workflows and approval processes for invoices, staff expenses, and credit card reconciliations, including oversight of purchase orders and vendor banking detail changes.
  • Oversee the finance email inbox, ensuring timely responses to payment requests and inquiries from vendors and staff.
  • Prepare tax compliance report preparation and filing including HST and import and duties.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
