Responsibilities
- Set up and lead meetings, coordinate inspections, investigate work refusals, and collaborate with the Ministry of Labour when needed.
- Develop and implement emergency and evacuation plans, provide first aid, investigate incidents, and recommend preventive measures.
- Deliver site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to ensure all trades and workers understand safe work practices.
- Administrative Support:
- Manage permits, inspection reports, qualification tracking, safety boards, and documentation related to compliance and enforcement.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must hold an NCSO designation or demonstrate equivalent safety certification and experience
- Degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Calm under pressure and capable of influencing safe behavior
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
- CPR/First Aid Certification
