About the role
- A PhD in Chemistry (or a closely related field with strong chemistry content e.g. extractive metallurgy, materials science).
- Evidence of a national independent research profile in chemistry.
- Evidence may include high-quality research outputs, competitive funding, HDR supervision, collaborations, invitations, and other indicators of research excellence and esteem.
Responsibilities
- It delivers its own undergraduate programs (BSc Mathematical Sciences and BSc Physical Sciences) and a Graduate Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy.
- The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in Chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- The appointee will develop and maintain a strong research program in Chemistry.
Requirements
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain chemical concepts and convey why it is important to diverse audiences, including future students and multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to work with colleagues across traditional discipline boundaries will be highly regarded.
Nice to have
- Lecturer (Level B): $115,512 - $136,831 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

- The appointee will contribute to the teaching, research, and service activities in Chemistry within the School of Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry & Physics (MSCP). The position is intended to strengthen Murdoch University's capability in chemistry and its applications, such as material science and extractive metallurgy.
- The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in Chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The appointee will contribute to the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of units and programs, and collaborative teaching with other schools.
