- This opportunity is for the TxDOT SH 6 Widening Project in Bryan/College Station and/or future projects.
Responsibilities
- Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
- Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
- Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Recognizes, resolves, and/or escalates discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
- All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
Skills
- Interprets and understands schedules to provide feedback.
- Experience and understanding of TxDOT plans and specifications.
- Understands standard testing requirements and methods used by TxDOT.
- Operates relevant testing equipment for assigned duties.
- Understands Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills at an advanced level.
- Calculates complex pay quantities.
- Identifies, documents, and escalates change conditions.
- May include night and weekend shifts.
