About the role

  • The Architectural CAD Drafter will be responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings and plans to support the design and construction of residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with the Florida Building Code (FBC) and possess the ability to ensure that designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • This is a 6 month contract to hire.

Responsibilities

  • CAD Drafting: Create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and construction documents using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) based on sketches, notes, and design concepts provided by architects and engineers.
  • Florida Building Code Compliance: Ensure all drawings and plans comply with the Florida Building Code (FBC) and other relevant regulations, including zoning laws and safety standards.
  • Blueprints & Schematics: Develop blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for various projects, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate design efforts and ensure that the project meets client specifications.
  • Design Revisions: Make necessary revisions to plans based on feedback from architects, engineers, and clients, ensuring that changes comply with regulatory standards and project requirements.
  • Material & Product Specifications: Assist in the selection of materials, products, and finishes by integrating relevant information into architectural drawings and documents.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project drawings and revisions, ensuring all documents are up to date and properly organized in the project management system.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any design-related issues during the drafting process, proactively identifying and resolving potential problems with construction feasibility or regulatory compliance.
