About the role
- The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting, finance, and human resources functions for a construction company.
- This hands-on leadership role ensures accurate financial reporting, sound internal controls, effective cash flow management, and efficient human resources administration while supporting the company's continued growth.
- Direct all accounting and financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
- Partner with Project Managers to review budgets, forecasts, and cost variances.
- Manage company cash flow and working capital.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 2 years of construction accounting experience.
- Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting.
- Experience managing payroll and human resources.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Compensation
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation.
